Specialized Inspection Equipment

The TCS Modular Current Interrupter is a load interruption system designed to execute timing cycles (ON/OFF) with millisecond precision using multiband GNSS synchronization. Unlike monoblock equipment, its modular architecture allows the power unit (TCS-SSR2) to be decoupled from the controller (TCS-CICX1), facilitating field maintenance and ensuring that cathodic protection inspections meet the most demanding integrity standards without interruptions due to signal loss or thermal failures.

Technical Scope

  • Load capacity: Up to 100 V / 100 A DC.
  • Dual GPS Antenna: The system features an internal backup antenna and a high-precision external (multiband) antenna, ensuring ultra-precise synchronization and rapid satellite acquisition, even in areas with low visibility.
  • GPS Constellations, GLONASS, BeiDou, and Galileo.
  • Event log: Up to 11,000 entries with error tracking.
  • Thermal protection: Automatic power cutoff at 80°C.

Methodology and Traceability

TECNA ICE’s methodology focuses on the accuracy of field data. The Modular Interrupter integrates a compensation system for switching delay (0–50 ms) and programmable offsets of ±10 s, enabling full synchronization with third-party equipment. The entire operation is auditable thanks to the event log, which includes timestamps and alarm severity levels, ensuring that corrosion studies are accurate and repeatable.

Adaptability to Extreme Climates

Recognizing that inspections take place in environments ranging from temperate zones to hot deserts, the TCS Modular offers two power configurations:

Standard Option

Passive cooling (no fan).

Up to 35°C

Operating ambient temperature.

High-Temp Option

Active cooling with an IP68 fan.

Up to 50°C

Designed for deserts and harsh environments.
